A desktop learner using an old web browser would get a message saying that their browser doesn't acptivate HTML5. The reverse problem that a mobile user would have when attempting to access an SWF. One simple solution to the old browser issue would be to ask everyone to upgrade their web browser. Because many private users, companies, government agencies, and educational institutions ffree in any rush to upgrade their web browser technology, it's not a viable solution at all.

Captivwte some developers, the answer is both. However, if you publish both formats separately, you'll have to provide two published lessons for your learners Then you'll need to tell your learners to choose the best format. Wouldn't it be great if could publish a Captivate project as both SWF and HTML5, at one time, and then let the learner's fai,ed not the learner determine the appropriate output to use based on its capabilities? That solution would be perfect Publish the project when the Publish process is complete, there's adobe captivate 9 publish failed free need to view the Output.

Minimize Hide Captivate and then open the folder containing the published assets. However, now that you've published both outputs at the same time, there's a new start file in the folder: multiscreen. If you make multiscreen. After I wrote the article above, I received the following helpful information from fellow Captivate developer Lieve Weymeis:. You have to do this only for retina screens, not for normal screens and just to capture such a retina screen. When finishing the capture you have to restore the old INI file or you will have issues with Captivate being too small to read on the retina screen.

I think it is Windows that disallowed editing the ini file in the Program Files folder. I hit this with something else and the workaround I used was to copy the file to another location, edit it and then copy it back. Windows does allow that! Peter's workaround worked for me as I was unable to even change the access levels in the folder properties. Posted by: Abigail July 19, at PM. For Email Marketing you can trust. That should work. I tried your suggestion.

I've tried to upload directly to the root of Shared Content. When I try to publish, first I get an error the a file with the same name or URL already exists, then I get the error about checking your network connection when I change the name to something totally new.

When I try to upload directly, I get the error above. Adobe needs to be involved and should be able to help work out what the issue s is by looking at the logs and your project. I have recently upgraded to Cp 6 hoping that the direct publish to Connect issue which has not worked for me since Cp4 would be resolved. It has not. I have up until now been zipping projects and publishing that way The problem is that the files do not open once it has been published I have also tried publishing the jobaids to Connect Now they the job aid pdf docs freeze Connect and crash IE.

There are at least two methods that can be used to determine the text in the questions are causing the issue. You are looking for either empty responses e. Then import the resulting zip file into the Content Tab. If an error occurs, potentially additional information about the error will appear towards the beginning of the XML text that shows in the Connect Interface.

The second option might be a bit more technical for some, so feel free to either contact Support or try to reach out to me and I can review. Update: My issue was an extra space at the end of some of the distractors answers. One I removed them in Cp, I was able to do a direct publish to Connect. Actually - I believe the problem with Andrew's files was a special character, which might have looked like a space but in TextPad appeared as a box. An extra space would not cause an error for import.

Re: Unable to Publish with Captivate 5.

Please help! Adobe Connect does not understand 0x3 character and terminates publishing process. If it doesn't contain quiz, try uploading only the swf file generated in published output.

I think it shoul work preperly. Anyway direct publishing from Captivate to Connect is a great feature. Also are you able to upload published zipped output to Connect? Can someone show me or confirm exactly what I'm looking for 0x3 or a square icon? Is there some DB entry that is hanging around that I can't see causing the issue? So I'm back Any suggestions? I'm now two weeks overdue Please advise.

Any advice on this?? Regards, Andrew. Much thanks to Andrew for his help!
